Regatta Report – U14 Coach: Declan Watling<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The opening regatta for the season, on Saturday 21st was a great opportunity for the U14 rowers to put what they have learned to the test, as well as compare themselves against the local competition. On behalf of all the u14 coaches, I can say the regatta was a great success.<\/span><\/p>\n

The main goal was to medal in at least one boat class. This goal was exceeded, with medals being won in the Oct, Quad and Scull divisions, as well as 2nd place in a Double. These results are a great way to start a season, especially considering final crews are still to be selected, which shows that this year\u2019s u14 group has plenty of talent. I think this will stand them in very good stead going forward.<\/span><\/p>\n

I would like to add how pleased all the u14 coaches are with the attitude of the u14s so far this season. I hope to see this attitude carried through into the upcoming regattas. The Head Coach of Bishops Rowing, Mr. Smith, has also commented on the group\u2019s neatness and punctuality at the regatta, so a very good start overall!<\/span><\/p>\n

The first race is a great learning experience, and we have plenty more around the corner. Let\u2019s set our sights on Western Cape Champs and aim to continue improving.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thanks for a great start to what looks to be a promising season!<\/span><\/p>\n
